MVHR Servicing
If your home has a Mechanical Heat Ventilation & Recovery system installed, you’ll need to get this serviced annually to make sure its operating at its optimum efficiency and ensure you’re getting the maximum benefit.
Our NICIEC & PassivHaus engineers can work on systems from any manufacturer.
We offer two levels of service:
1 Year Service – £300 + cost of filters – we will check air intake/output levels and restore to manufacturers recommendations, replace filters, clean round intake/extract vents.
5 year Service – £650 + cost of filters – we will completely re-commission your system, rebalancing all intakes/extracts and recalibrating the control unit. We recommend this service every 5 years or after any changes to the property layout.
NOTE: The price of replacement filters can vary considerably depending on the make and model of the main unit, for this reason we price them separately. Please contact us for further information and to book in your service.
We also offer a repair and upgrade service for MVHR systems if your house layout has changed or you feel your system is not performing optimally we can discuss your requirements and how best we can help. Pricing for repairs/upgrades will be quoted on request.
Heat Loss Surveys
– if you are considering adding any energy saving technology to your home such as heat pumps or underfloor heating, or if you are making home improvements such as basement/attic conversions or adding extensions, we can make sure your existing insulation is up to scratch by performing a Heat Loss Survey.
During the survey we will seal obvious air/heat loss points such as letterboxes and window vents, we will then use our specialist equipment to pressure test the envelope of your building and identify how easily air (and therefore heat) can escape.
You will receive two reports one from the testing programme which will give you a numerical value useful for EPC’s or building regulations, and another report written by our engineers. This second report will contain observations as to where air (and therefore heat) is escaping from your building and recommendations as to how best to seal/insulate to keep your home warmer.
We can also offer extended testing using additional specialist equipment such as Thermal Imaging and smoke pens, depending on how detailed you would like your survey to be.
The cost for these starts at £400 but can vary depending on your specific requirements – please contact us – we will be happy to provide a quote, or chat informally.
