At Greenfield Controls we recognise there is a skills and knowledge gap within the construction industry. Whilst practical training in PassiveHaus and Green Building principles is become more common amongst Architects, Project Professionals and Management, trades and supervisiors on the ground often lack the understanding needed to deliver high energy efficiency projects, particularly in relation to Airtightness.

The integrity of the Airtight layer is key to any building’s energy performance. Wherever the air goes, so does the heat! Sub-standard installation and poor management of penetrations through the Airtight Membrane (such as ventilation ducting, electrical, plumbing, and drainage) means a lower Airtightness Test result. This could lead to costly delays and repairs.
